Real stories. Real people. From everywhere.
What is Heard?
Heard is a space where anyone can share an honest personal story — anonymously or openly — and where others receive those stories as acts of human connection, without the noise of social media metrics, follower counts, or toxic comments.
Think of it as Humans of New York — but anyone in the world can be the person with the story.
Our principles
Story before interface
The story is the product. UI chrome should never compete with words. When in doubt, remove an element.
Metrics are private
No follower counts. No view counts. No like buttons. No trending lists. The moment a number appears next to a story, users optimise for the number.
Unhurried by design
No infinite scroll. No countdown timers. No urgent CTAs. Every interaction is an invitation, not a demand.
Safety through structure
No open comment threads. No reply-to-reply. One empathy response per story. Toxicity is prevented architecturally.
Global by default
No local feed. No geographic bias. A story from Lagos sits next to one from Oslo. Emotion is the only filter.
How it works
Read
Discover stories by emotion. No algorithm. No trending.
Feel
If a story moves you, respond with something human. One response, 280 characters, anonymous.
Share
When you're ready, share your own. Choose a prompt or write freely. Choose your anonymity level.
Release
Your story goes out into the world. No likes. No shares. Just the quiet knowledge that someone, somewhere, heard you.
